Get in front of people before they search

Google catches people already looking. Facebook reaches the ones who have not thought about it yet — and plants the idea.

See if this fits

The difference that matters

Search advertising waits for demand. Somebody's water heater fails, they type it into their phone, your ad appears. The intent already existed and you paid to be there when it surfaced.

Facebook and Instagram work the opposite way. Nobody opens Facebook looking for a landscaping company. You put your work in front of the right neighbourhood and let it do the persuading. Someone scrolling past a photo of a finished deck two streets over is exactly how a job that was going to happen next spring becomes a call this month.

That is why it suits visual trades and seasonal work. If the finished job photographs well, this is your channel. If people only buy from you in an emergency, it is not.

Honest fit

Who this is for

This fits if

  • Your finished work looks good in a photo — decks, fencing, landscaping, remodels, concrete, painting, roofing.
  • Your work is seasonal and you want to fill the calendar before the season, not during it.
  • You have real photos of real jobs, or are willing to start taking them. Stock imagery does not work here.
  • You want to stay visible to a local area between purchases, not only at the moment of need.

This is wrong if

  • You are an emergency service. Nobody scrolls Facebook while their basement floods — this is where Google Ads work well.
  • You have no photographs of your own work and no plan to get any.
  • You need leads in the next month. This channel warms an area up; it does not switch demand on overnight.
  • You will judge it on clicks. The measure here is calls and booked jobs.
What is included

How we run it

01

Audience built on geography

Tight targeting around the areas you serve, plus the homeowner signals that make sense for your trade.

02

Your own photos, used well

Real before-and-afters from your jobs, cropped and captioned for the feed. We tell you what to photograph.

03

Retargeting that is not creepy

Facebook viewers see your ad a sensible number of times, then it stops. Frequency caps exist for a reason.

04

Lead forms or site traffic

Whichever converts better for your trade. We test both, because the answer is not the same everywhere.

05

We see what actually worked

We set up the tracking so you see which ads produced real enquiries, not just likes and clicks.

06

A monthly report

Spend, enquiries, cost per enquiry, and what changes next. No vanity metrics dressed as results.

How it works

Three markers to a full calendar

1

We gather the material

Your best job photos, your service area, and the season you are aiming at.

2

We launch a small test

A few audiences and creative angles at a modest budget, to find what the area responds to before committing.

3

We scale the winner

Your budget moves to whatever produced enquiries; the rest is switched off. Then we work on fresh creative before the current ads go stale.

What it costs

What the price depends on

Ad spend is yours and it sits on your card in your own Meta account, just like your Google Ads. The size of it is driven by how big your service area is and how long a season you are trying to fill.

Our fee covers the audiences, the creative, and running the account. Creative is the variable part, and it is the cost nobody warns you about: feed ads wear out faster than search ads and need refreshing every few weeks. Supply good job photos regularly and the fee is lower.

If your trade is one where this channel rarely pays, we'll tell you that instead of selling it to you. If it fits, we'll walk you through what it takes.

What to expect

How this unfolds

  • Week one — setup

Account, pixel, audiences, and the first ads built from your photos. Tracking confirmed before anything spends.

  • Weeks two and three — testing

Several angles running small. Early enquiries are a bonus; the real output is knowing what the area responds to.

  • Weeks four to eight — scaling

Budget consolidates behind the winner. Cost per enquiry settles into a range you can plan around.

  • Ongoing — refresh

New creative every few weeks to stay ahead of fatigue, and seasonal pushes timed ahead of the work.

Trail questions

About social ads

Should I run Facebook or Google first? +
If people search for what you do, start with Google Ads — it is closer to the money. Facebook earns its place when you want to fill a season ahead of time.
Do I need an Instagram account too? +
It helps and it costs nothing to set up, since the same ads run across both. For visual trades Instagram often carries more weight than Facebook does.
How many photos do you need from me? +
Enough to keep rotating — realistically a handful of good job photos a month. Phone photos are fine. Consistency beats production value on this channel every time.
Are Facebook leads worse than search leads? +
They arrive colder, because the person was not looking when they saw you. Cheaper per enquiry, more work per enquiry. Call them faster.
Does boosting a post do the same thing? +
No. Boosting buys reach and likes. A built campaign controls who sees it, how often, and what happens when they click — which is where enquiries come from.

Ready to catch active demand too?

Search ads reach people already typing your service into a phone. The two work best together.
