Show up when your neighbors search

The map pack is the most valuable real estate in local business. Getting into it is slow, unglamorous work — and it keeps paying long after the work stops.

See where you stand

What local SEO actually is

Someone types “fence company near me” into their phone. Google shows a map with three businesses on it, then a list of blue links underneath. Local SEO is the work of becoming one of those three, and of owning the blue links below them.

It isn't one thing. Google decides who to show using your Google Business Profile, the consistency of your business details across the web, the pages on your site, your reviews, and how close you are to the person searching. Move all of those in the right direction and you move up. Ignore any one of them and the others do less.

The honest headline is that this takes months. Anyone promising the map pack in three weeks is either lucky or lying. What you get in exchange is the only marketing channel that keeps producing after you stop paying for it — the rankings do not switch off when the invoice does.

Honest fit

Who this is for

This fits if

  • You serve customers in a defined area and they find you by searching for what you do plus where they are.
  • You can wait two to six months for the curve to bend, and you have work in the meantime.
  • You want an asset you keep. Rankings you earn stay yours; ad clicks stop the day the card declines.
  • You are willing to ask happy customers for reviews. It is the highest-value thing you can do yourself.

Choose something else if

  • You need leads this month. Go to Google Ads or lead generation instead — we would rather send you there than take money for the wrong tool.
  • You have no physical presence or defined service area at all. Local ranking factors need somewhere to anchor to.
  • You want to stop after three months. Stopping early means paying for the slow part and quitting before the payoff.
What is included

The whole job

01

Google Business Profile

Claimed, verified, filled out properly, categorised correctly, and kept current with photos, services, hours, and posts.

02

Citations and listings

Your name, address, and phone made identical across the directories Google reads. Inconsistency here quietly holds down whole accounts.

03

On-page work

Titles, headings, internal links, and page structure aimed at the terms your customers actually type — not the ones the industry likes to say.

04

Service-area pages

A real page for each service in each town you cover, written properly. Not the same paragraph with the city name swapped.

05

Reviews that keep coming

A simple system for asking, so reviews arrive steadily instead of in one burst that Google discounts.

06

Reporting you can read

Rankings, map-pack positions, calls, and form fills in plain language. No forty-page dashboard export.

How it works

Three markers up the mountain

1

We survey the ground

Where you rank now, who is above you, what they have that you do not, and which terms are actually worth chasing in your market.

2

We fix the foundations

Profile, listings, site structure, and pages. Most of the first two months is unglamorous cleanup, and most of the eventual gain comes from it.

3

We build and hold

New pages, steady reviews, and ongoing work to keep the position once you have it. Competitors do not stop, so neither can this.

What it costs

What the price depends on

First, how competitive your market is. Being the best plumber in a small town is a different job from breaking into the top three in a metro where four companies have been working on this for a decade.

Second, how many services and how many towns. Each service-area combination is a real page that has to be written and maintained. Six services across five towns is thirty pages, not one.

And third, what shape you are starting from. An unclaimed profile, scattered listings, and a site with no page structure means more months of foundation work before anything moves.

We'll give you a straight read on cost and how long it'll take in your market once we've looked at where you stand. If ads would serve you better for now, we'll say that instead.

What to expect

The timeline

  • Month one — foundations

Profile, listings, and site structure. Expect little visible movement. This is the month that makes the later months work.

  • Months two and three — first movement

Long-tail terms start showing up. Usually the specific searches first — service plus town — before the broad ones.

  • Months four to six — the map pack

This is where most businesses see the map-pack position move and the call volume with it. Some markets are faster; competitive ones are slower.

  • Beyond six months — holding and widening

Defending the position and adding services and towns. The compounding starts here, and it is the reason to have started.

Trail questions

About ranking

Can you guarantee I will be number one? +
No, and neither can anyone else. Google does not sell positions and does not publish the formula. What we can do is name the specific things holding you down and work through them in order.
What is the map pack? +
The block of three local businesses Google shows on a small map above the regular results. For local searches it takes the majority of the clicks, which is why our work aims squarely at it.
Do I need a physical storefront to rank locally? +
No. Service-area businesses that work from a home base can rank fine. Your address stays hidden and your service area is what Google uses instead.
How many reviews do I need? +
More than the businesses currently above you, arriving steadily rather than all at once. The pattern matters as much as the count, which is why we set up asking as a habit rather than a campaign.
What happens if I stop after six months? +
The rankings you earned do not vanish overnight, but they will erode as competitors keep working. SEO is a position you hold, not a box you tick.
Can I do local SEO and Google Ads at the same time? +
Yes, and for most businesses that is the right answer. Ads cover the months while SEO is still climbing, then you can dial the ad budget back once organic is carrying the load.

Need calls before month four?

Search ads reach the same people, just faster and on a meter. Most businesses run both for a while.
